In practical application, helical gear is widely used in high speed and heavy duty occasions because of its characteristics of smooth transmission, low impact, vibration and noise. The biggest advantage of helical gears is high transmission accuracy, followed by high intensity and noise and vibration control (high end overlap, low harmonic resonance in modal analysis). Straight gears may even do better than helical gears purely from the point of view of motion smoothness (smoothness of line load curves).
